I was recently in London, and found one guy in all those guitar shops
in Charing Cross Road that knew his way around synths as well, and had
a corner in one of the shops for synths and stuff. The short reply was
that all the synth shops have gone, and if you are looking for vintage
analogs you have no chance. He had some synths in the shop (the new
stuff from the usual companies). They did have the Korg Monotron,
though, that I bought.
Chappell of Bond street [they are on Wardour Street, Soho, close to
Oxford street] (mostly sheet music and classical pianos) had a large
department for electronic instruments, including synths et al.
